Anonymous19 August 2010 at 21:55 More thai life please, preferably of the gay/ish variety. Maybe an update on the inhabitants of thai internet cafes ala the departed silom farang? Enjoy your trip abroad.

Yraen19 August 2010 at 23:06 I can probably live with notti pix. :))
BD, prehaps the reason you are not getting many posts is: (a) people agree with your view-point; or (b) there has been nothing sufficiently controversial/eye-catching to warrant posting.
While you do choose to be a 'home-body' with a few minor side-trips for work and the slum-household, there is much happening in LoS that could attract your eagle eye & observations.
May I suggest a broadening of the topics on which you write? You are an astute reporter of 'things Thai' - don't limit yourself. :)
Best Wishes, Yraen.

Bkkdreamer20 August 2010 at 07:59 Silicon Farang: Thank you for the best wishes regarding the overseas trip. It will be brief, but I am looking forward to it.
I rarely visit email cafes, and most gay life in the tourist strip fails to interest me. I tend to look elsewhere for adventures, though for the most part am happy these days with my family from the slum.
Yraen: I keep telling myself to get out, but I am not sure where else I should go.
The story of Ball and his family can still teach us things about Thais, though I write less about him now than I did in the past as I do not want to annoy readers more than necessary (I realise the stories can seem dull to outsiders).
Hendrikbkk: I called Phra Kew's mother a few weeks ago, shortly after I visited him at the temple. He had invited me to visit him at his home, where I would get to chat to his mother and meet the rest of his family as well.
However, the mother cancelled, probably because she doesn't want me to see the spartan conditions in which she lives.
After the slums I am used to seeing every day, they can't be that bad...but she doesn't know that.
I will probably pay Kew the monk another visit at his temple when I return from overseas in the middle of next month.

Anonymous20 August 2010 at 09:12 Please tell us about Thai life and I don't mean the soap opera variety. Honestly, who cares about that?? Nobody, thus no comments. Tell us about ANYTHING REAL you encounter in Thailand. The look on a security guards face is more interesting than "celebrity" news.

Michael Lomker20 August 2010 at 09:31 I read a handful of blogs and there are aspets that I like about each of them. Bao Bao's often akes photos of everyday life and comments on it. Shameless Mack sometimes posts about Thaiglish, Thai holidays, and other cultural matters.
I think you should continue posting what interests you and readers will comment when their interests align with yours.

Re celebrity news...those posts bring in new readers. Apart from that, the guys mentioned in the posts are cute.
Celebrity news may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I am trying to appeal to a wide variety of reader tastes.
I am also trying to disguise the fact that I don't get out much, and some days have little else to write about!
Michael: My camera is tiny and won't allow me to do much. As far as I can tell, it has no lens thingy which I can adjust, which limits immediately what pictures I can take.
I will carry on posting what interests me, and hope it will encourage readers to comment.

Comments are welcome, in English or Thai (I can't read anything else). Anonymous posting is discouraged, unless you'd like to give yourself a name at the bottom of your post, so we can tell who you are.
