Here's looking at you, kid

This blog is five years old today. Happy birthday!

I would like to thank readers for their ongoing support. Have any of you been around the whole five years?

I became a loyal reader of your blog and Gay Boy Thailand about four years ago. Unfortunately, I have heard no news about Silom Farang for quite some time, but I'm glad that you're still here. Do you have a Silom Farang update? -- A Texan

    Michael: I am blushing.

A Texan: Thank you. It is good to hear from someone who has been around so long.

I hear from Silom regularly, as we are email friends. He is happy and healthy, I am pleased to say.

Thank you. I recall that five years ago when I started the blog, I was seeing a university student who turned out to be a possessive, jealous type who wouldn't leave me alone. It was an 'experience', as they say, but one I would not care to repeat.

Hello, Bill. Five years? You are doing well....a stayer, as they say.

As for admiring Thai men, you will find few arguments here. They are beautiful, and we are lucky to have them.

Omni, Frances, Tao: I love hearing from regular readers. Thank you so much for your kind comments and ongoing support.

You help make blogging worthwhile. Without feedback, I may as well be writing for my goldfish (if I owned one).

When I first discovered your blog, I remember "catching up" all at once, I think a little over a year's worth, so I'd say I've been reading for about 4 years. Your blog has a good feel of real people, and so is quite enjoyable. I think that you are skillful at choosing the right things to include in a posting so that the reader has a sense of being there. Thanks for lots of sharing with us.

DS: Thank you. I would like readers to have a sense of what it was like to be there, as it helps explain what happened and why those involved reacted the way they did.

Sometimes I am not sure myself why things pan out the way they do, which is why reader reaction is always welcome.

Thinking the worst of people's motives rarely works, but nor does hoping for too much. In that regard, Thais are much like anyone else.

I like your accounts of random encounters with ordinary Thais. Keep it up.

Eduard: Thank you. I don't meet that many, and not all the tales are worth sharing. But when I find a goodie, I will write it up on the blog.

I've enjoyed your blog for nearly 5 years and remember your times with 'E' the uni student.

    Congrats,

Silicon Farang: Thank you, and may I compliment you on your staying power.

I am sure Maiyuu recalls the days when I was seeing that uni student. I took down that series of posts a long time ago, as they made me look bad.

I don't mind portraying myself in a moderately bad light, but there was no dignity I could salvage from that disastrous episode. I was a shit, and have told Maiyuu I will never make him feel that bad again.
